Storage and Weather Update

 The November gas futures contract is currently trading at $3.64, $0.02 higherr than it settled yesterday. The 12 month strip is trading at $3.96 /MMBtu and this year's winter strip (Nov 11 - Mar 12) is trading at $3.87/MMBtu. By comparison, last year's average winter strip (Nov 10 - Mar 11) settled at $3.98/MMBtu.

Storage Update

Working gas in storage was 3,624 as of Friday October 14, 2011, according to EIA estimates. This indicates a net increase of 103 Bcf from the previous week.

Stocks were 46 Bcf less than last year at this time and 113 Bcf above the 5-year average of 3511 Bcf.

Weather Update

Fall weather is here and everyone is beginning to think about winter, however the calendar indicates that it is still Hurricane Season.

 

A couple small storms are forming in the Caribbean, and are expected to travel towards the Gulf, but are not expected to remain strong enough to affect any Natural Gas production.

Niagara Falls to Expand Wastewater Treatment Plant

The Niagara Falls Water Board is looking to put their treatment plant back into action to handle the highly anticipated removal of the ban on Hydraulic Fracturing in New York State.

This would put many people back to work, help strengthen the local economy, and above all help ensure the quality of the region's water supply, a major concern among local residents.
